Communities in Bloom is a Canadian non-profit organization committed to fostering civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification of the community. The program consists of registered communities being evaluated, either provincially or nationally by a volunteer jury of trained professionals, on the accomplishments of their entire community (municipal, private, corporate and institutional sectors and citizens) on six key criteria:
Community involvement is a key sector that has been incorported and evaluated within each criteria.
DWK/WFN Awarded 5 Blooms in 2012
The Communities in Bloom judging for West Kelowna/Westbank First Nation occured on July 25. The official results were released at the Communities in Bloom National Symposium in Edmonton City on October 13, 2012 with West Kelowna/Westbank First Nation receiving 5 Blooms again this year.
