The Administration Division is divided into three primary departments:

HUMAN RESOURCES

Human Resources recruits and retains high calibre staff and fosters employee health and safety, ensuring the well being of those who serve West Kelowna with pride.

Responsibilities include:

  • Posting Employment Opportunities and hiring
  • Coordinating labour relations
  • Administering collective agreements
  • Managing compensation and benefit programs
  • Maintaining open communications with staff
  • Fostering positive workplace relationships
  • Coordinating staff development and training
  • Overseeing health and safety programs.

RECREATION AND CULTURE

Recreation and Culture is dedicated to creating and delivering services that encourage healthy living for the benefit of West Kelowna residents of all ages.

Through a service agreement with the Westbank First Nation, the District is also pleased to be able to extend these opportunities to those living on WFN lands.

The department publishes the quarterly West Kelowna Recreation Guide and provides an online registration service for recreational programs and the Johnson Bentley Memorial Aquatic Centre.

POLICING

The District of West Kelowna has a Municipal Policing Unit Agreement with the Province of  British Columbia, enabling the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to serve as the local policing force in the municipality.
